Did the chop 2 months ago. No sprouts developed along the cut line. Chopped another 1/2 inch or so about 2 - 3 weeks ago. No sprouts around cut line but quite a few elsewhere. Sit & wait, graft? Any ideas?

Don't know if I'm liking the upper most segment after the chop. From the top of the rough portion up it just doesn't appear natural. Don't know if it is the texture of the bark the makes it feel that way, if it is too straight or what. Any opinions?

Most of that makes sense. The reason I was chopping shorter is that there is a buldge in the trunk. What about shortening some of the side branches? I'll look at it again tomorrow. Thanks for the help.
