No minimum length for essay. Send it in and the committee will determine if educational materials etc. are acceptable. Also include how you'd give back to the bonsai community, thats an important factor in the decision making.

Keep plugging at it. Its hard deciding who gets the scholarships there are usually many good entries and we can only give out two.
