It does indeed look like blackspot fungus. Not wetting the leaves at watering will also help to reduce it. I have overcome it with removal of infected leaves and a Lime sulphur wash. Fungicide sprays will work too.

Ive viewed this one on FB many times. The deadwood work has aged well and is really good, because in reality it doesnt look like there was a second trunk there, it looks like one main trunk that became split, over time. Think thats what the poster above was getting at. Great tree!

Most wouldnt cut back their trees as hard as in the video, in any season. Sometimes you gotta take a few steps back, to make one step forward.

Pretty sure the base has thickened, since ive been allowing the stems to grow unrestricted all season. Recently cut back the low left branch and selected a stem moving upwards as want to raise the canopy and let the first left branch develop into a subtrunk.
