Mine have done this and still come back.
Under watering and losing leaves is better( I think) than over watering and losing roots.
I have thought a couple of times about heat mats because my grow lights and trees are in the basement. It may be too chilly for them.
With no leaves just watch...

I like this- a couple blocks from me the whole neighborhood does this. Cars line up and drive through the neighborhood every Christmas Eve.

I think this just helps eliminate 50 people saying “nice tree”.
It also allows new members a way to develop interests and be able to participate even though they may not be able to add to the discussion themselves.
In some cases it allows a way to support or encourage those in a heated debate...

The hardest part may be not rooting all the trimmings. They multiply so easily.

You may find these ficus under their past names also ficus nerifolia or ficus salicaria.
Some US stores still sell them under that name.
