Wow I have never seen a skunk in real life. Do they just spray their scent everywhere while you watch it or do they give up/run out of scent?

Nope. When you chase them, they will spray. Their spray is pretty accurate. Their scent gland production is prodigious. They can run out but the regen is quite speedy.

This drought has me fed up
I used a 10 minute timer on the sprinkler for each of my benches. My insane meeting schedule didn't allow for watering with the watering can and my rain barrel is empty anyway. Wish I had time to finish my drip irrigation setup.
I have a Rain Point 2 zone wifi enabled hose timer. I wouldn't do this every day but it's really good for these busy days where it would take me at too long to water well with a hose individually. Just set and walk away.

Got 1/2 ilex crenata collected yesterday into grow boxes. This one has some really good trunk movement. Will let recover all of next year if it lives with some selective pruning to reign in size. Ultimately destined for a nice small bonsai, maybe just a bit taller than shohin. I buried it pretty deep.

Well.. Yesterday was a long day. Made a visit to this well known bonsai artist and had a 3 hour stroll through the nursery, while carrying a camera. Unfortunately LOADS of noise so not sure whether it will make a video.

I imagine you'll have enough clear audio to for a few interesting snippets of conversation, and if the rest is terrible a tour set to music isn't bad.
Worst case scenario, you have 3 hours of B-roll for future videos, and proof you're in the big leagues now.

I do hope so. We spent a good half hour discussing bonsai and life and balance in bonsai as well as life. And how people seem to ave a misunderstanding of bonsai with all the competition and downtalking. So that shoul dmake for a good conversation in bonsai video

The Tree Center is not far from me in VA. I’m pleased with the BAC I purchased from them. Doing amazingly well.

I tried to automate the watering of my bonsais.
Learnings:
Learnings:
- If you don't have tools for power work, don't do it. Your hands will thank you.
- If something is complicated for one bonsai, it will not scale. I will not make this again when I will have a third tree.
- Anyhow, it was good to make something for the trees.
