Time for another Haiku "Contest"! In honor of the New Year, let's have a haiku contest / tool give-away! The rules will be the same as last time - in order to enter you just have to post a new year's-themed haiku. Haikus will not be judged for quality. You can post more than one haiku, but you can only have one chance in the final drawing (ie posting more haikus do not improve your chance of winning). Entries have to be posted by midnight, January 1 (the night AFTER New Year's Eve), in whatever time zone you live in. The winner will be chosen by random drawing from all entries. Details are coming together for this year's Pacific Bonsai Expo Don't forget - it is a juried show, and if you want to show a tree you have to submit an application between Feb 1, 2024 - April 30th, 2024 (which is sooner than you would think). New information continues to be posted about the 2024 Winter Show outside of Charlotte this year. First, the general details: Date: December 7 & 8, 2024 Location: 150 Research Campus Drive, Kannapolis NC 28081 (same as previous years) News: The big news so far is that this year's show will be a juried show. Similar to the National Bonsai Exhibition or the Pacific Bonsai Expo, if you want to display trees at the show you will now have to submit photos of your tree(s) to a selection jury. Since there is more demand for display slots than there are display tables, this ensures that the best quality trees get the honor of being displayed at the show. I view this as a positive sign - both in terms of the increasing interest in the show, and the increasing quality of trees that people will see there. Looking forward to seeing you all this year!!
