Contest Dates: Friday, October 17 - Friday October 31 end of day (local time wherever you are posting from)
Rules:
(1) Post a haiku. If you don't know how, check out this link.
(2) You can enter more than once, but more entries do not increase your chance of winning.
(3) Winners will not be judged for quality, but will be chosen randomly from the entire pool of entries.
(4) You may include photos if you wish, but photos do not increase your chances of winning.
(5) IMPORTANT: If you post to this contest thread, you are giving our friends at Wazakura the right to use your entries on their web site (including images, if any). They are providing the awards for the contest, and would like to share some of the entries with visitors to their site. They will chose which entries they want to use, and the entries may or may not be those that "win" the random drawings.

Winter Bonsai 2025, Kannapolis, NC (outside of Charlotte) December 6 & 7, 2025
New information continues to be posted about the 2025 Winter Show outside of Charlotte, NC this year. First, the general details:
Date: December 6 & 7, 2025
Location: 150 Research Campus Drive, Kannapolis NC 28081 (same as previous years)
After last year's record turn-out, we're looking forward to an even more popular show this year.
News: Vendor and Exhibitor tables have been booked for months. There are still 25 seats still available for Saturday night's banquet, which I highly recommend - great companionship and decent food!

2025 North American Bonsai Pottery Competition

"Brought to you by the American Bonsai Society and Discover Potters, the 2025 North American Bonsai Pottery Competition is a premier international juried bonsai ceramics exhibition that will be presented at the 2025 ABS Learning Seminars in association with the 9th National Bonsai Exhibition in Rochester, New York.
On the 10 year anniversary since the 3rd National Juried Bonsai Pot Exhibition, last held in 2015 in Washington, D.C., this exhibition and competition aims to celebrate the diversity of bonsai pottery in North America by showcasing the beauty, craftsmanship, and functionality of bonsai pottery, while encouraging the growth and development of the art of bonsai containers. Our goal is to highlight the finest examples of North American bonsai pottery and connect the broader bonsai community with the best artists across the continent.

Save the date. What better way to celebrate the tremendously successful US National Bonsai Exhibition than to make it even MORE awesome! The 2025 ABS Learning Seminars will be in Rochester at the official hotel for the US National Bonsai Exhibition and will be held all day Friday and Saturday. Join us on Friday, then beat the crowds on Saturday, and enjoy the US National Show on Sunday for a perfect weekend of bonsai!
